Meet our Administrators

Kristian Dahl
Principal

Hello EAS Community!

My name is Kristian Dahl, and I am thrilled to begin my first year as Principal of the Environmental Adventure School. This marks my 22nd year in education, all within the Lake Washington School District. As a Washington state native, I grew up in Silverdale, WA, and graduated from Central Washington University with my undergrad and my Master’s at the University of Washington.

I began my teaching career at Juanita High School, where I taught Physical Education and Health. One memorable year, I had the opportunity to teach a lesson on Athletic Injuries to EAS students. After 12 years at Juanita, I spent four years as an Associate Principal at Inglewood Middle School, followed by seven years as Principal at Evergreen Middle School. I am truly excited to return to this amazing community.

On a personal note, I have two boys: my son Beau will be a freshman this fall at Juanita High School, and my youngest, Dash, will be a 4th grader at Thoreau Elementary. In my free time, my family enjoys anything outdoors - we snow ski, water ski, camp, hike, rock climb, and much more.

I look forward to witnessing all the wonderful adventures our EAS students will embark on this year!

Holly Knowles

Greetings EAS! My name is Holly Knowles.

Although being at EAS is new, this area is very familiar to me. I grew up in Issaquah and was a student in the Issaquah School District.

After I finished my K-12 education, I began my studies at the University of Washington before beginning my teaching career as a middle school math teacher in the Providence Public School District. After six years in the classroom, I made the transition into administration. I have four years of experience as an elementary school associate principal, most recently at McAuliffe Elementary in LWSD. This is my first year as an administrator at the middle level.

Outside of school, I love to ski, read non-fiction, and spend time with my family and friends.
