Meet our Administrators

Jennifer Cleaves
Principal

Jennifer Cleaves

Hey EAS! My name is Jennifer Cleaves. I am beginning my fourth year as the proud principal of EAS and my 29th year in education. I am a Washington state native, graduating from WWU. I taught in the Bellevue School District School before moving to Colorado in 2002. In Colorado, I worked as a teacher, instructional coach, interventionist, assistant principal, and principal before returning to Washington in 2021.

On a personal note, I have two children: my daughter, Mia, is a psychology major at CU Boulder and my son, Kai, is an eighth grader. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and going to concerts.

I look forward to working with each of you and continuing the great work that is happening at EAS.

Holly Knowles
Associate Principal

Holly Knowles

Greetings EAS! My name is Holly Knowles.

Although being at EAS is new, this area is very familiar to me. I grew up in Issaquah and was a student in the Issaquah School District.

After I finished my K-12 education, I began my studies at the University of Washington before beginning my teaching career as a middle school math teacher in the Providence Public School District. After six years in the classroom, I made the transition into administration. I have four years of experience as an elementary school associate principal, most recently at McAuliffe Elementary in LWSD. This is my first year as an administrator at the middle level.

Outside of school, I love to ski, read non-fiction, and spend time with my family and friends.
