A splash of color – Students partner with alumnus to paint a mural in school hallway

Everything looks a little better with some paint on it. That is why students at Finn Hill Middle School (FHMS) and Environmental & Adventure School (EAS) have teamed up with local muralist and EAS alumnus Austin Picinich to paint a mural at their school. Picinich also painted the mural that can be seen at the restaurant Spud Fish & Chips in the Juanita area of Kirkland. The mural at FHMS/EAS resulted from a collaboration between the students on the EAS Equity Team and FHMS ASB leadership. It is displayed in the hallway outside of EAS. The mural has a nature theme with additional school and recreation themed elements in it. Picinich graduated from Juanita High School in 2023 after attending Sandburg Elementary, Discovery Community School and EAS.
